Ravana Samhita is composed of the Asura Ruler of Lanka, Ravana himself. It is a gathering of mysteries and rules uncovered by Master Siva himself to Ravana.
At some point, Siva went into the place of Ravana and was astounded to find him sleeping. Ravana prostrated himself up the floor in love.
With collapsed hands, he mentioned Siva to excuse him, as his offense was not a conscious one. Siva answered that human birth was a troublesome one to accomplish, and it did no credit to Ravana’s knowledge to fantasize, particularly during such a time. Ravana mentioned Siva being caring to his (loyal) worker and pardoning the offense. Ravana further requested that Siva request him concerning which unwanted work he should shed.
