Small Intestine Cancer
May 26, 2023 ⚊ 1 Min read ⚊ Views 79 ⚊ BLOGSmall intestine cancer, also known as small bowel cancer, is a rare type of cancer that originates in the cells of the small intestine. The small intestine is a part of the digestive system located between the stomach and the large intestine.
The exact causes of small intestine cancer are often unknown, but certain factors may increase the risk. These include age (it is more common in older individuals), inherited conditions (such as familial adenomatous polyposis or Lynch syndrome), Crohn’s disease or celiac disease, radiation exposure, and certain genetic conditions.
Small intestine cancer may not cause noticeable symptoms in the early stages. As the tumor grows, common symptoms may include abdominal pain or cramping, unexplained weight loss, changes in bowel habits (diarrhea or constipation), blood in the stool, fatigue, nausea, and vomiting.
